Permalink Reply by Phil Lampman on July 4, 2012 at 12:49pm The boat appears to be Ezio Selva's MOSCHETTIERE (Musketeer) V. Fitted with a supercharged Alfa Romeo Tipo 159 Grand Prix race engine the boat crashed at Miami in 1957. taking Selva's life.
Following his death, Selva's widow returned the engine to Alfa Romeo (I suspect it was loaned to the boat anyway) and had the hull destroyed.
The photo would appear to be taken at Lake Mead, judging by the row boat and the background, though I can no history of the boat at that event.
