Randall E. Roe replied to Phil Lampman's discussion Looking for a pair of these for the Blue Blaster Restoration
"Hi, I think the chrome ones are a lot more obscure than the white plastic ones, unfortunetly. If you can't find any, one avenue that might be an option, is one of the places that rechromes auto dash guage panels for restorations. Pick…"

Randall E. Roe replied to Steve Wilkie's discussion Allison engines. What's the differance?
"Sounds interesting, Steve. I've heard the airplane guys lament before but truth be told, they learned from each other and a lot of the boatracing mods keep the planes flying. You put Dixon Smith and Dwight Thorne together and that was  a…"

"Steve, I'll load you up with some Allison info! As I said before there were  Letter series, but there was a corresponding number too. C series is the first with a supercharger., D was for  "Pusher Prop" planes, E was for…"

Randall E. Roe replied to Steve Wilkie's discussion Allison engines. What's the differance?
"Steve, if you want to know all the real facts, the Holy Grail is a book that came out about ten years ago called "Vee for Victory", it is the complete story of the Allison engine from start to finish. There were series of engines from A to…"

Randall E. Roe replied to Gordon Main's discussion Miss Supertest3
"Actually the rather ironic rules negated the  U.S. boats that ran Merlins, even though Packard Merlins were built in Detroit! While british built Griffons were ok'd to use because Canada was considered British commenwealth."

Randall E. Roe replied to Peggy Kwiatkowski's discussion The Gold Cup Room at the Whittier Hotel in Detroit, MI
"I think you should donate it to the Museum or APBA. but thats just me. The whittier was right across the street from the old pit area, so I would guess that a lot of the teams stayed there."

Randall E. Roe replied to Tim Matyn's discussion what needs to be done to increase the fan base and popularity of unlimited hydroplane racing
" I actually liked it better when we only raced on Sunday. Every extra day that the course is open increases the cost of running the race a ton. As far as speeding up the program, the two hour wait until the final is stupid, unless of course you…"

Randall E. Roe replied to Tim Matyn's discussion what needs to be done to increase the fan base and popularity of unlimited hydroplane racing
"I hate the airshows, every time a jet rips over my head while I'm working at a race it pisses me off, I'll watch B-24's and Spitfires any time, jets are just noise pollution  to me. And Idon't think the average fan knows…"

"The First part of the problem, John - is no one can afford to be wrong on a big gamble. Bud is long gone, they were the last ones who had the budget to really experiment. The second part is a brutal reality of what racing is in the 21st…"
