Event Description

We are pleased to announce that Saturday, May 30th we will be having our first Pay 'N Pak Crew Lecture in our year long celebration of the Legacy of Innovation the Pay 'N Pak story.

The 1975 "Winged Wonder" U-25 Pay 'N Pak is privately owned by Ken Muscatel and he is having the Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum restore the hull, headed up by Mike Hanson and Jere Heiser and Museum Volunteers.

The Museum is excited to be doing a lecture series and bringing a mobile exhibit to the Tri-cities as they celebrate the 40th anniversary of George Henley driving the Pak to it's second Gold Cup win in 1975.  We will also be bringing the mobile exhibit to Hydros 101 at Seafair.

Don't miss this unique opportunity to hear from original crew members of the "Winged Wonder."

Committed:  Jim Lucero, David Smith, Dixon Smith and Dave Culley (will add more as we hear from them).

I always learn something new at these types of events. Looking forward to it.

The "Pak" was always my favorite hull, and "Smilin' George" my favorite driver.  I was in the pits the day George broke the 130 mph qualifying barrier in the Pak during "74 SeaFair.  One of my most prized possessions is a 3' by 2' "bird's eye" photo poster of the Pak that George signed for me, thanking me for my support.  It's framed and hangs over my desk.  Looking forward to the crew lecture.  Regards, Dick
