What do i have

Hiya i bought a wooden hydroplane at a closing down sale at believe it or not a car repair garage in scotland and i have no idea what it is.

Its around eight feet long made of marine ply with a round canvass front end on it.

There is a metal plate on the rear end of it but i cannot read anything on it because its quite badly corroded,I have some photos of which i will put on if anyone thinks they can help me
