Thanks for posting this photo of Leonard Ellis' Lincoln, Lon. At first glance, the unknowing might regard this as at best, an art car or at worst a brave attempt at resurrecting the sport in terms of a monument to honor the sport. Lenny is one of those people who are proud to display their love for the boats and what better way than to do what he's done.
Make no mistake, Lenny is a serious enthusiast and even a wonderful historian of the golden age of unlimiteds. I fear sometimes his art car is - well, silly to some - but to those of us who consider Lenny a friend and great asset to the sport, it's easy to recognize and appreciate that big Ol' Lincoln.
By the way, it truly is an "Art Car" and has done well in local art events and festivals.
When I arrive in the mornings to work on the Blue Blaster, seeing Lenny's car just makes me smile and reminds me of what I'm spending so much time down there.
Great shot, Lon.
