I agree completely with your comments! With only 10-12 boats these races should all be one day events, just like they were in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. And the time schedule needs to be tightened up,even if that puts a little more pressure on the teams. In Detroit the crowds have slowly decreased, and most of the people who sit where I do, at the start finish line, don't even show up on Saturday, even though the tickets are $125.00 each. But unless they're die-hard fans like me why should they? The preliminary heats on Saturday are generally meaningless in terms of the final outcome, and all of the supporting events are the same on both days. And the don't even give you anything to eat or drink on Saturday!
