Gar Wood and Dean Chenoweth to be honored by the Hydro Museum

Gar Wood and Dean Chenoweth will be inducted into the Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum

Hall of Champions on Saturday May 14th.

Legendary boat racers from different eras will be inducted into the Hydroplane & Raceboat Museum Hall of Champions on May 14th joining previous inductees Bill Muncey and Chip Hanauer.

Gar Wood was the superstar of the pre-World War II era, winning 5 Gold Cups, 8 Harmsworth Trophy Races and setting 6 world water speed records.

Dean Chenoweth won 4 Gold Cups, 4 National Championships from 1970-1981 and ranks third all time with 25 unlimited hydroplane victories.

The event at the museum begins with a social hour at 6pm.  Dinner is at 7pm with videos and the induction ceremony at 8pm. Tickets are $75 each. Please RSVP by calling the museum at 206-764-9453.
