Comment by Gary Todd on January 2, 2011 at 6:21am: Hi Mark, This morning I am looking at the photo's I have and this is the pitting order as I see it. Looking from the water side left to right, Budweiser, Bardahl, Chysler Crew, Madison, Tahoe Miss, Lapeer, $ Bill, Savairs Mist, Loaner, Wayfarers Club, My Gypsy, Notre Dame, Dixie Cola & Gales Roostertail (14 boats). The Madison to $ Bill line up is the one I am not completely sure about. I will post the black & white photos I have. I am the Geek standing in front of Notre Dame. My Cousin, Bob Jones is standing in front of the Budweiser. He took the photo of me and I of Him, the only two photos we took of each other. Take Care!

Your photographs have helped me recreate the pitting order of that fateful race. The Notre Dame had My Gypsy and U-19 to her right and Smirnoff on the left. Probably doesn't mean much to most but to me it means a lot. Thank you.

Comment by Gary Todd on November 7, 2010 at 3:33am: Hey Mark, A day I will never forget. I was just getting into photographing the boats at age 14. That photo of Notre Dame is probably my Favorite. I think that was the most beautiful boat!
