Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum

We're racing through history!

Visiting from Sweden - what a blast.....

In early April I had the chance to visit the Hydroplane museum for the first time. I would like to thank everyone for the welcome and I must say I am impressed by the work and dedication of everyone.

I am working with a boat museum here in Sweden but we have nothing like what you have. Being a boat racing fan it was like coming to heaven. There is nothing even close to unlimited hydroplanes here. I am restoring a small inboard hydroplane which origin is from one of Ron Jones Sr drawings. You have inspiried me to finish the boat as soon as possible but other boats keeps coming in between.

It was also a thrill to meet and talk to Ron Jones Sr. I have read so much about him that it was like meeting a rock star or even more than that. I also much injoyed Doug Fords lecture about boats that didn´t work. I am waiting for the book. I bought David D. Williams book about Hydroplane Racing in Seattle, finished it in two evenings...

Here are a few pics from my visit and I hope to be back soon. And then I hope to see a hydro in the water....

Thanks everyone for being soon friendly and hope to see you all soon.

Take care and Best wishes,
