Wink, I never met Anchor but was fortunate to meet DeWitt Jensen who gave me a very informative tour of the shop on Portage Bay. Also a big fan of Mira Slovak and the Miss Wahoo. I met Mira at the team shop on Boeing Field in 1959. My Dad was having his Cessna engine overhauled at a nearby shop and the mechanic knew the Wahoo crew and took us over for a visit. A highlight of my young life:

Thank you both for joining. I first saw Slo-Mo IV testing off Hunts Point in 1952. I had never seen a hydroplane before and asked the kids I was visiting with "..what is that?" They replied that it was the race boat that won all the time. Later that summer I was able to watch the IV win the Gold Cup on black and white TV. I was hooked and still am.  I envy you, Carl for getting a ride in the IV, but was finally able to ride in the Wahoo with Chip Haneuer three years ago. Loved it!

Grew up n Seattle and became addicted to the hydroplanes. Rode in Slo-Mo IV in 1952 at 135mph with Anchor as the driver. Have since ridden in Miss Wahoo twice and still addicted.
