Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum
We're racing through history!
I have been a hydroplane fan since the early 60's and have participated in hydroplane racing since 1984 so I am a huge fan of hydro history. As a Seattle native, I have been studying up on boats and drivers from the pacific northwest. The one that stuck out the most was Steve Reynolds. Steve was an inboard champ and stepped into the unlimited and did not disappoint. Not only did he win in practically everything he drove, he was a great ambassador for the sport back in the 80's. The sport he loved almost took his life so I think its only fair that Steve gets an opportunity to be recognized as a member of the hydroplane hall of fame.

No argument here, but what Hall of Fame are you proposing? The Motorsports Hall of Fame, the Hydroplane Museum's, Hall of Champions, The APBA HofF or whatever it's called? I think your intent is clear enough and Steve is certainly a worthy candidate. But then consider others like Stan Sayres, Chip Hanauer, Bill Muncey, Mira Slovak, Ted Jones, Billy Schumacher, Eddie Kaerlsen, and others, who may or may not already be in one Hall of Fame or another. Heck, I think David Williams ought to be in some hall of fame too for what he's done to preserve the history of Hydroplane Racing.
Not to discredit your suggestion, but I for one, am confused by the number of these "halls", especially as it relates to Hydroplane Racing. I suspect that Steve Reynolds will eventually be inducted into some hall of recognition but far be it for me to suggest which one. I certainly hope it's one that will eventually be recognized by all of us.
Thanks for the quick response Phil. I agree with you on all accounts. Too many halls and too many great drivers, owners and builders who may or may not have a hall to call home. I think that Steve should have the opportunity to get into all of the halls you mentioned but for sure I would start with the hall in his back yard. The Hydroplane Museum's Hall of Champions. This would be a great tribute to a great man who earned it. David Williams definitely deserves his own hall as well as Dr. Ken Muscatel. These guys along with many others are responsible for the Museum being what it is today, and for that I am grateful, Thanks
