Lived in East Detroit and would drive my M/C down Jefferson to the rooster tail and sit right on the breaker wall for the start 1969
How do we get unlimited racing back in Detroit?
My thoughts: 1. Ask H1 to go public with the amount they charge to bring the boats to each city for a race.
2. Start a "go fund me page" asking for donations
3. Approach local companies to match the public donations.
4. Ask previous Detroit Race organizers what other costs must be covered.
5. Approach previous sponsors when donations to "go fund me" cover H1 costs
I keep seeing photos of Miss Madison with the right sponson "removed" and need of a restoration.
Where is the boat located, and who owned it? If ever there was a hydroplane that should be restored, she would be it.
