MUSEUM MEMBERSHIP EQUALS FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Posted on August 3, 2011 at 2:29pm 1 Comment

This newly-revised Museum web site kicked off on October 19h 2010. We are now up to 423 "members", from all over the U.S. and even International. It is an amazing "blog", with lots of photos, videos, and hydro racing history. It also provides  the ability to follow all of the Museum restoration progress. But it is important to point out that the 423 are members of the "blog" and not literally members of the Museum itself. Museum membership indicates financial support, which helps us pay the…

AMAZING BOOK, "HYDRO'S WHO'S WHO", 1946-2008, By Jim Sharkey

Posted on December 4, 2010 at 9:37am 1 Comment

I recently purchased Jim Sharkey's amazing book, "HYDRO'S WHO'S WHO, 1946-2008". It lists all of the boats, all the drivers who drove them and what year(s) they raced. There is a chonological listing of a) all the Unlimiteds and their name changes; b) all the drivers and all the boats they drove; and c) a yearly breakdown as to how each boat finished in each race. The book is absolutely amazing with all the infomation and details. If you need to know about a hydro hull,…

Hello Bob,

I remember you well :)  My address is sunie3550@yahoo.com if you happen to come across the Madison race video.  I am not looking for anything professional.  If someone happened to tape it from their TV that would be just fine.  Thanks for your help!

Awww, that's so neat to know! Howcome you never told me before? I was on the Unlimiteds on Down site for a couple years, but found Facebook, and moved toward spending too much time there. I was my Daddy's girl growing up, but when my Mom passed away in 1993, our relationship went south, and is at a point where we don't even talk :( However, I do "keep tabs" on him through other family and friends. He had a scary bout with pneumonia a couple months ago, but got well again, and is back down in Havasu where he resides over the Winter. I'm really glad you told me that information. It's fun to know! - Laurie

I'll try to be there. I went to the library the Sunday after the Seattle race, but the receptionist said there was no meeting.
