We're racing through history!

On Saturday, April 26, 2014, the Washington State Sports Hall of Fame announced its 2014 induction class, which includes hydroplane racing legend Chip Hanauer.

The class includes such high-profile inductees as Seattle Sonic Detlef Schrempf, Mariner Alvin Davis, and Chip’s fellow Washington State University alumni, television broadcaster Keith Jackson and “The Throwin’ Samoan” Jack Thompson.

Hanauer, Jackson, Thompson, and former Indy 500 winner Tom Sneva will be formally enshrined during the WSU Cougars’ football home opener versus Rutgers, on August 28, 2014 at Century Link Field in Seattle.

The State of Washington Sports Hall of Fame was founded in 1960 by longtime Northwest sportscaster Clay Huntington. The Hall of Fame is located in the Tacoma Dome.
