The boat was owned by Henry Kaiser, who also owned a similar boat called Hot Metal.  I think he was owner and/or president of Kaiser Aluminum.  (He also started the auto companies which built the Kaiser, Fraser, and the Henry J.) I don't think either boat ever won anything.  Henry was father or uncle to Edgar Kaiser, owner of the Hawaii Kai III.

Fred Farley says, "The U-21 designation first appeared in 1949 on Henry J. Kaiser's ALUMINUM FIRST. Henry J, unfortunately, knew just enough about hydroplane design to be dangerous. The boat was a fiasco and quickly faded into obscurity."
