There have been some changes to the current crew and the team may look a little different in the future. Our dear friend and crewmate Jerry Curtaindale passed away and has left a big hole to fill. For those that had knew Jerry he was a quiet man that did extraordinary things with raw aluminum. The vents on the deck and the air intake scoop where a couple of examples of his handy work. Jerry has a remarkable family that shared his passion for this old boat and a loving wife that was very understanding when we spent long hours during the refurbishment. The boat looks great and a lot of the credit goes to Jerry.
The other change is my relocation to Oklahoma City.
One of the things I already miss is working at the museum and spenting time with my crewmates. This group of guys are my closest friends and I am always amazed at their skills and knowledge. One of benefits of working with them is learning from them. Although most of the team is made up of us older guys (except Josh) we still know how to have fun and and enjoy each others company.
I grew up a few blocks away from the Stan Sayers pits and I was always envious of the people who had pit passes and got close to the boats. Now I have had the priviledge of being part of a fraternity that gets to keep these wonderful pieces of history in running order and to showcase what Hydroplane racing was in the past.
I will return for Tri Cities and Seafair to help out and re-connect with everyone at the museum.

Well, George, it seems apparent you haven't been indulging yourself enough on Oberto's fine products.

I love the Teriyaki Jerky myself, but my Miss Wahoo jacket is getting more difficult ti zip up.

I still have some of my old crew shirts from this boat. I think they still fit too.
